Commanders Coach Takes Responsibility for Keeping Jayden Daniels in Game Prior to Significant Injury

The Commanders leader Coach Quinn has admitted he bears some the blame for a serious injury to the squad’s signal-caller, Daniels.

Particulars of the Injury and Situation

Jayden Daniels, who enjoyed one of the greatest first-year performances in history the previous year, sustained a displaced elbow joint in the Sunday defeat to the Seahawks. Even though the quarterback passes with his right arm, the injury has left his campaign in doubt. The injury was significant enough that the TV coverage did not show repeats and several players turned away as he was treated by medical staff.

Criticism and Coach’s Reaction

Quinn came under criticism as many believed the rookie should not have been on the field to begin with. The injury occurred in the final period with the Commanders trailing 38-7, rendering a comeback improbable. It is typical in such situations for teams to put in their backup quarterback to prevent injuries to their starter.

“I get that. I’ve been thinking about it nonstop, too, and, wow, I erred,” he remarked of his choice to keep Jayden in the game. “That is 100% on me.”

Fallout and Team Prospects

Mariota will be the Commanders’ starting quarterback from now on, but he will lead a team in turmoil. Following making the conference title game last season behind Daniels’s excellence, the franchise have faced difficulties currently. They also saw injuries to defensive back Marshon Lattimore (ACL tear) and wide receiver Luke McCaffrey (broken collarbone) on game day, and have a host of other key players on injured reserve. The Commanders are three wins and six losses on the season, and it would take a huge turnaround for the team to reach the postseason.
